Take Ten: Playwriting Workshop

Ten-minute plays are a great way to get your feet wet in playwriting. They are also a unique drama form that is often sought after by theater groups across the country. This three-week workshop will go over the basics of writing plays such as format, characters, conflict, and dialogue, as well as submission and production opportunities. The workshop culminates with a showcase reading of the finished plays by actors.

Brian Cox is the artistic director of Pencilpoint TheatreWorks and producer of the popular storytelling event “Snapshots: Stories from Life.” He has directed and produced multiple new 10-minute plays, including Fight Like A Girl. He has had numerous 10-minute plays produced in festivals around the country. His full-length play Clutter received its world premiere at Theatre Nova in 2017 and received a Wilde Award for Best New Script.
